Pre-Operation Instructions


Since aspirin can cause bleeding, it is important to avoid aspirin and medications which contain aspirin for at least 10 days before surgery and for one week after surgery.

ALL VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS MUST DISCONTINUED 10 DAYS BEFORE SURGERY

Please notify us immediately if you are currently taking anti-coagulant medication.

Other non-aspirin medications which can cause bleeding and need to be stopped prior to surgery are:

  • Ibuprofen - stop 3-5 days prior to surgery
  • Motrin - stop 3-5 days prior to surgery
  • Advil - stop 3-5 days prior to surgery
  • Nuprin - stop 3-5 days prior to surgery
