J. Michael Pardo, M.D.

Dr. Pardo is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He continued with his residency training at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore and completed his training in June, 2000. Board Certfication was obtained in 2001 from the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Pardo is a native Annapolitan who maintains an academic appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Pardo is the former chief of Otolaryngology at Anne Arundel Medical Center and has been voted one of the Top Docs of Annapolis by What’s Up Magazine for several years.

Joydeep Som, M.D.

Dr. Som is a graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his residency training at the University of Maryland Hospital in June, 2000. Board Certfication was obtained in 2001 from the American Board of Otolaryngology. In the year prior to joining our practice, Dr. Som was directly involved in the training and teaching of future ENT doctors and remains a Clincal Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Som is also the current Chief of Otolaryngology at Anne Arundel Medical Center and has been voted as one of the Top Docs in Annapolis by What’s Up Magazine for several years.

Matthew A. Hilburn, M.D.

Dr. Hilburn is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Indianapolis at University Hospital & Riley’s Children’s Hospital in 2005. Board certification was obtained in 2006 from the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is the current Chief of Otolaryngology at Anne Arundel Medical Center and has been voted one of the Top Docs of Annapolis by What’s Up Magazine as well as favorite doctor by Chesapeake Family Magazine. Dr. Hilburn has a special interest in pediatric and laryngeal disorders.

Annalisa Overstreet, M.D.

Dr. Overstreet is a graduate of the Penn State College of Medicine and completed her residency training at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2012. She has presented her research on sinus disease and nasal polyps at national and regional meetings and was awarded the Paul C. Harrington Award for Research at University of Rochester. Dr. Overstreet is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

Peter King, M.D.

Dr. King is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency training at The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. King is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Andrew Johnson, M.D.

Dr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Virginia in 2008, majoring in Spanish with a minor in Biology. He continued at the University of Virginia and received his medical degree in 2012. Dr. Johnson then completed both his General Surgery internship and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.   Dr. Johnson is the author of several peer-reviewed publications in the ENT literature, and has presented his research at multiple national meetings. In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys being on the water with his wife and two daughters, sailing, and fishing. He treats children and adults of all ages and is proficient in both English and Spanish.

Kevin Shaigany, M.D.

Dr. Shaigany was born and raised in Maryland outside of Washington D.C. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from Temple University. He continued at Temple University for his medical degree and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He completed his training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Maryland in 2021. He has published his research in numerous peer reviewed journals, presented at national meetings, and was the recipient of Duane A. Sewell M.D. Research Award.

Dr. Shaigany practices general and pediatric otolaryngology with an interest in sinusitis, thyroid disease, hearing disorders, and head and neck cancer. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, traveling, and spending time with his wife and three children.

 

 

Katherine Perry, MD

Dr. Katherine Perry is an Annapolis Native and is board certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then went on to receive her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine, where she graduated with distinction, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Perry completed a five year residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Maryland before joining Chesapeake Otolaryngology Associates in 2015. Dr. Perry currently lives in her hometown of Annapolis, with her husband and two children. She enjoys boating and hiking with her family.

She has an interest in sinus surgery, pediatrics, and head and neck surgery.

Samuel Jones, M.D.

Dr. Jones is a Maryland native and an alumnus of the University of Maryland College Park (Go Terps!). He attended medical school at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Maryland, where he was the recipient of the medical center’s Resident Physician of the Year award. Dr. Jones has also authored peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national meetings.

Dr. Jones practices general and pediatric otolaryngology with a particular interest in thyroid and parathyroid disease, chronic sinusitis, ear surgery, and head and neck cancer. He is committed to providing high quality patient-centered care and is dedicated to serving the patients of the Greater Annapolis area. He spends most of his free time with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys visiting craft breweries, fantasy football, and traveling.

Jaime Olenec, M.D.

Dr. Olenec is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and completed her pediatric residency training at Northwestern University Children’s Hospital in 2008. After completing her Board Certification in pediatrics she went on to specialize in the treatment of allergy, asthma and immunology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her Board Certification was obtained in 2011 from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She moved to the Maryland area in 2012 and received Chesapeake Family’s Favorite Doctor Award in 2013.

Bryan Ambro, MD, MS

Dr. Bryan Ambro leads Annapolis Plastic Surgery. He is an experienced facial plastic surgeon, with 8 years of leadership at one of the area’s leading medical facilities and was voted as one of the Top Docs of Annapolis by What’s Up Magazine.

James Chappell, MD, FACS

Dr. James Chappell is a board certified plastic surgeon who focuses on breast augmentation and reconstruction, body contouring and minimally invasive body sculpting.  He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a Masters in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University.  He then completed medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School.  He performed his surgical residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care/Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, followed by his plastic surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.  

Dr. Chappell brings more than 18 years of experience to Annapolis Plastic Surgery.  He has been consistently named a "Top Doc" in the field of Plastic Surgery by What's Up? Annapolis Magazine and the Annapolis Capital.  Dr. Chappell has held numberous leadership roles, including Medical Director of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Wound Care Center, and President of the Maryland Society of Plastic Surgeons.  He also served as a Clinical Instructor in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Division at the University of Maryland Medical System from 1999-2005.

Caroline Simm, CRNP

Caroline Simm, CRNP was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is fluent in Spanish and English. She received her undergraduate degree- Bachelors of science in Nursing  from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. She went on to receive a Masters in Science with honors from the University of Maryland schools of Nursing in Baltimore. She is a board certified family Nurse practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining our practice she worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital and then spent 9 years in family practice. She also currently works with our partner Annapolis Plastic Surgery.

Courtney Lamb, CRNP

Courtney Lamb, CRNP originally a native of New Jersey now resides on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA. Prior to pursuing a Master of Science from Walden University school of Nursing, she worked in surgical services specializing in Vascular/Thoracic surgery for 10 years. She is a board-certified family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to joining our practice in 2023, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Luminis Primary Care. Courtney practices in our Annapolis Office.

Noel Johns, DNP

Annapolis ENT

Noel is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Cincinnati. Her clinical background includes work in the emergency department and ICU, as well as volunteer experience as an EMT and paramedic. Her doctoral work focused on health care systems and human trafficking efforts in Colombia and has been presented at multiple conferences. As a Navy family, she and her husband spent six years living abroad in Bahrain and Bogotá, Colombia before moving to Maryland. A mother of two, Noel enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, traveling, cooking, and going on adventures with her family. Noel practices in our Annapolis office.

Shannon Cox, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Shannon Cox is a Family Nurse Practitioner with clinical experience dating back to 2012. After earning a degree in biology in Connecticut, she earned a nursing degree at Marymount University in Virginia, built a strong nursing foundation while working in diverse healthcare settings, including as a float pool nurse at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where she earned her master’s degree and became a Nurse Practitioner in 2018. She later relocated to Maryland, providing care in a community clinic before transitioning to specialty care working alongside otolaryngologists since 2021.

Raised in a military family, U.S. Navy, she values adaptability, service, and connection with diverse communities. She is passionate about caring for patients of all ages and building long-term, patient-centered relationships. Outside of work, she is a mother of two and enjoys swimming, camping, boating, and skiing. Shannon practices in our Prince Frederick location.
